Layers

Ground

black

Mask

This layer appears above the ground layer and only displays the non-black section.

Animation

This layer is a flashing layer, used with a ground or mask tile to make the effect of animation for water and the like.

Mask2

This layer appears above the mask layer and only displays the non-black section.

Mask 2 Animation

This layer is a flashing layer, used with a mask2 tile to make the effect of animation for water and the like.

Fringe

This layer appears on top of all others, and above the player.

Fringe Animation

This layer is a flashing layer, used with a fringe tile to make the effect of animation for water and the like.

Fringe2

This layer appears on top of fringe, and above the player.

Fringe2 Animation

This layer is a flashing layer, used with a fringe2 tile to make the effect of animation for water and the like.

Attributes

Map Morals

Now for the map Properties these allow you to connect maps to other maps by default, set the locations for respawn on death, place NPC's on the map, Shops on the map, Map Moral, and the Music on the map.

None

The map name will be bright red, allowing player vs. player combat for all players level 10 (by default) and above. Experience and worn equipment are dropped upon death. When a player kills another player in this zone, they get PK status, which is a Red name.

Safe Zone

The map name will be white, not player vs. player combat (Unless they have PK Status).

Arena

The map name will be grey, allowing player vs. player combat. There is no experience or equipment loss when you die.

Savage Lands

The map name will be yellow, and is nearly identical to arena.

Tools

Hide Fringe

Hides the fringe layer on the map, so you can see under trees/etc.

Show Tile

Allows you to preview the selected tiles before placing them.

Fill

Fills the current map with the selected layer or attribute.

Clear

Clears the maps selected layer or attribute.

Eyedropper

Allows you to select a tile on the map and jump to it in the mapeditor.

Delete

Completely clears the current map's attributes/layers/npcs/etc.

Properties

Setting Npcs

You can select the drop down box to the right as shown in this following picture to set any created NPC onto your new map. Npcs can be created in the npc editor.

Setting Shop

You can select the shop from the drop down box. Shops can be created in the shopeditor.

Connecting Maps

To connect maps, simply specify the Up, Down, Left, or Right map number in the map properties menu. Then when you reach the edge of the map in that direction, you'll appear on the specified map. Now once you're on the new map, make sure to connect the old map back. To find the map numbers type /loc, which will return the map number, x, and y.
